The Prospect of Tensions between Turkey and Zionist Regime

During recent weeks, officials of Turkish government especially Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called policies of Zionist Regime as invasive and cruel and also he has described Netanyahu as “Baby Killer, Leader of Terrorist government, Fascist and Racist.” It is not the first time that tensions rise between Turkey and the Zionist Regime. It is several years that their relationship is full of tensions. During the rule of Justice and Development Party as an Islamist party, Turkey has consistently opposed the illegal Zionist settlement and massacre of the people in the Gaza Strip. Turkey has also opposed the announcement of Jerusalem as the capital of the regime and the adoption of the "Jewish State" law over the past year in Israel. Turkish officials consider Jerusalem as their red line and believe that "if the whole world is silent about Jerusalem, we will not remain silent." In this regard, Turkey has tried to act as its declared policies which some examples are:

1-    Erdogan's harsh behavior in 2009 at the Davos summit with Shimon Peres, Prime Minister of Zionist Regime

2-    The expulsion of the Zionist ambassador in 2018 following a clash in Gaza and the killing of a number of Palestinians.

There are many political disagreements between two sides, such as Palestine, Turkey’s support from Hamas, Zionists support from Kurds, Greece, and Cyprus against Turkey, cooperation with the Arabs against Turkey, efforts to withdraw Turkey from NATO and reduce military operations with the United States but still because of their economic and security ties the relations have not led to a crisis.

It seems this process will continue. Turkey and Zionist regime will continue their economic trade which already is about 2.5 million dollars. And they will continue to detent in political issues. The history of Turkey’s behavior towards Zionist Regime shows that Turkey’s behaviors are only in the context of its strategy in Islam World and adopted with its economic interests. Israel is not willing to expand disagreements and doesn’t want to make Turkey a front like Iran which is against Israel. Finally, the tension between Turkey and the Zionist regime can lead to a decline in political relations, but it will not make any problem in their economic relations.
